Back in early 2006 the BBC in the United Kingdom launched a High Definition television channel. Billed as a ‘preview’ channel, the BBC used the channel up until December 2007 to test high definition scheduling. (more…)

To be honest, I have no idea where I’d be without my SlingBox. Basically, you connect the SlingBox to your television (in this case, a Sky HD box) and Sling’ will sling the video across your LAN to your computer. Boo-ya!
But the fun does not stop there. Not only can you control your satellite/cable box from your computer but you can also pipe your television out of your LAN and onto the Internet for your viewing pleasure.

Cisco has been running a series of really cool television adverts globally focusing on ‘the human network’. Unlike many advertisements these days, Cisco is selling a brand not a product and I like that.

I fully disclose that I am a 24 fan boy. I love every detail including the iconic ringtones of the CTU IP telephones. Now, having installed these tones on my cellphone, I wait for those few seconds every now and then when someone calls me for I get to pretend to be Jack! (more…)
