After a long wait, o2 in the UK have finally announced details of the Pay As You Go option for the iPhone 3G in the UK.

On September 16th you’ll be able to pick up the iPhone 3G for £349.99 and £399.99 for the 8GB and 16GB variants respectively.  And the o2 website boasts that the Pay As You Go (or ‘PAYG’) offers will also include unlimited browsing and Wi-Fi’ for 12 months.  I guess that means browsing over the 3G networks making it one very attractive offer for any one interested in making use of the internet features of the iPhone - like myself.

You’ll be able to take your new PAYG iPhone 3G home to active online via iTunes.  You’ll also have to change a few settings as the iPhones ship pre-configured as ‘Pay Monthly’ handsets.
