I don’t like it. I think the interface is basic and the coloring is childish. It feels like it lacks features. And to be perfectly honest, I’ve pretty happy with FireFox 3. But word around the internet tells me that Google Chrome coverage is good for page views. So here goes with a few screen-shots.

When I downloaded Chrome I almost clicked past this screen without noticing the default options. I really dislike browsers importing data from my other browsers so I had to change these settings.

As you can see above, you have the standard install options which you would have for any modern browser. I unchecked most of the defaults.

The browser looks a little like this the first time you run it. A neat feature is the address bar - you can search right from there.

When you download something in Chrome, it ends up on the ‘Downloads’ page. Really quite lovely if you ask me.

Google have kept the settings screen fairly simple - a refreshing change from some preference panels I’ve seen recently.

Even the full set of options is limited. I guess that’s the Google way.

Google Chrome tabs show up as separate processes in Task Manager. They say that’s a good thing but on a purely aesthetic level - it’s not working for me.

That wraps up my screen-shot tour of Google Chrome. Not for me, but maybe for you. Oh, and before I forget …the browser war is so on!
