Many thanks goes to the BOL team for the shout out on Monday.  Glad you guys like what I’m doing with your data.  I was offline most of this week roaming about the scottish countryside sending emails from the exposed peaks of hills and other such geeky things, so I’ll forego the commentary and jump right to the clouds.  Oh and sorry for the delay - I managed to bring down the entire site upgrading WordPress - yay me!  (more…)

  • Apple Mobile Me

    On Wednesday of last week MacWord UK was reporting that Apple - perhaps in light of a far from perfect launch - were offering a £15 rebate to new customers only.  However, after a little digging around, I have discovered that Apple are also offering the rebate to existing customers here - hidden on the ‘past promotions’ section of the Apple Rebates website. The deal offer is exactly the same as that offered to customers buying Mobile Me after July 21st.  (more…)

    The Great MacDonald\'s OJ Scam

    Have you ever been to a McDonald’s outlet in the UK and ordered a bottle of Tropicana Orange Juice?   I have been doing so for as long as I can remember and have always been disappointed.  Not because the OJ was bad but because I always managed to drink my way through the little bottle of juice much faster than I expected.  Until recently I attributed this anomaly to the salted fries ‘on the side’ making me extra thirsty.     One week on and Apple are still making the headlines.  iPhone 3G lines are still long and Apple made a few mistakes with their 3G launch.  As I write, the guys over at iPhone Dev have launched their tool for unlocking and jailbreaking the 2.0 firmware so the Apple headlines are unlikely to subside or some time yet.
