I’m surprised at the responses I have had from my post yesterday about my trail of 118118’s new question answering service. Quite unusually for The Blog of Ross C Brown, the post received replies, most of which pointing to one of 118118’s competitors, Any Questions Answered (AQA).
All eight comments so far offer praise to AQA,so I’m going to put AQA head to head with 118118 with another round of (better designed) questions. Right now, I intend to ask five questions to each of the companies twice. I’d love to ask more but The Blog of Ross C Brown does not have a massive budge and can therefore only stretch to £13.50!
I’m going to be asking the questions some time next week during business hours (probably Tuesday) and I’ll be quoting directly the companies replies and noting the response times from each. I’ll also be increased to see the difference between answers to the same question from different researchers at come companies.
Right now, I’m about the email each of the companies and see if they’d like to comment etc. And finaly, I’ll also be harassing my friends for the answers to the questions I set to see if using the services offered my 118118 and AQA is faster and more reliable than my highly skilled group of friends.
Update: I will also be testing the Texperts service too. Same rules as above. (2nd June 2008)
Update 2: I’ve just published my follow post here, please check it out and leave your comments.
Now it is over to you, feel free to post some tough questions in the box below and I’ll consider using them as my test questions. But before you do that, here are two polls I’d love your you to answer:

Hi Ross,
You should also trial Texperts in your test! We’ve been doing this for nearly 5 years now so are pretty good - we like to think the best.
We charge for Answers, not Questions, so it is good value. You can get 5 free Answers by registering at http://www.texperts.com or send me your mobile and I’ll set up some free credits on your account.
Good luck!
Rhod
i’ve used all sorts of services - but find the 118118 service the easiest and quickest to use. Plus i can always remember the number!
Change of plan. I will also be testing the Textperts service too. See updated post.

I’ve noticed Europe is a huge texting market. The United States has it’s fair share of texters too. I’ve heard of Texperts, is that a world wide service or just in Europe?
