Do you know an engineer? Does that engineer need a gift? If you answered ‘yes’ to both these questions (or even just the first one), GiftsForEngineers.com is for you!
Just before Christmas, I was continuing my quest to buy my friends the most amazing gifts ever. One of my friends is studying Civil Engineering at Glasgow and I was truly stumped as what to get her. In my moment of desperation, I turned to Google and entered the most inspired search string, ‘gifts+for+engineers’ and, as if by divine intervention, I discovered the above site.
Now, there are many types of engineer but not to worry, Gifts for Engineers divide their products up by profession so you can quickly find gifts ideal for your engineer.
The gifts range from inspired design items like the Aeroplane Ruler (from MoMa to the more ordinary like chocolates in the shape of protractors and t-squares and other drawing equipment that I won’t pretend to be familiar with.
Their product range is superb but thats not what makes this company amazing. There level of customer service and attention to detail really makes, Cincinnati based, Gifts of Engineers great!
I emailed them to establish where my order was and instead of a plain boring corporate response, I received a reply from a real person called Elizabeth who really seemed to care for me and my order.
And when my order did arrive (it was delayed by the Christmas and New Year holidays) the packaging was overkill. My relatively small tube of chocolates was mailed in a 1200mm triangular mailing tube with lots of soft fill and a a cool pack to prevent the chocolates melting in-transit.
Of course, the success of this gift depends very much on the reaction of my engineer, but Gifts for Engineers have fulfilled their end of the arrangement very well and I recommended you go check out all the nice things they offer. They will even ship internationally!
And a final note, inside the packaging I found a discount coupon for my next order - that just made my day!

There are some great gift ideas for engineers. I think the chocolate protractors are one of the funnier and one of the more unique gifts for that special someone.
I have to mention I love engineers. In college I loved spending time with them in their dormitories because of the creative projects we’d work on. It’s so funny because sometimes people dub that line of work as boring, but the knowledge they attain produces some of the cool projects you see on Instructables or other sites. Shopping for an engineer, that is tough! But I’ve found catering to their intellect or getting them materials for their projects works well. LED lights are a good choice too, depending on their field of engineering.
The idea and concept is really good. I think we must ask for the wishes from engineers themselves, though we can decide on few on our own. We can present them the list of gifts to choose from.
They would definitely like the idea for sure.
