Touch of PinkWith just a few more days left until Christmas, a friend of mine just asked me what fragrance he should buy his new girlfriend. Now, to be honest, I have no idea why he was asking me. Surly it would be more sensible to ask a girl. Anyways, not being one to say no to someone, I set out on finding a nice scent for everyday wearing - a task not so easy into days consumerist high street.

So after hours and hours of consideration, I’ve decided that Lacoste Touch Of Pink is the way to go. Why? Well its fairly sensual and mature scent but with a contemporary edge. The base note is quite musky and I like that. Finally, I just love the song on the TV spot. Oh, and at £28 can you really go wrong?

Once I presented my findings I was tasked with a new question, ‘ What fragrance should I wear to compliment her fragrance?’. Now, I have no idea how one goes about answering this so I’ll just tell you what I’m wearing these days.

Jean Paul Gaultier brings me Le Male, a surprisingly fresh scent that I find works best early in the morning. Not only does it smell fresh but it also smells ‘clean’. Its great. And at £38 a shot its well within acceptable limits for a Christmas gift.

For later in the day and for a more mature and ‘bad-ass’ scent, I find that Armani Code (For Men) fits the bill. This scent is sophisticated, in fact, I’ll go as far to say its sexy. The base notes (I’m all about the base note) are of guiac wood and tonka beans. All in all, this is a fairly masculine scent ideally suited to evening wear. A little more pricey at £47, but well worth it!
